희망의 집 고치기, 삼성에버랜드가 해비타트를 시작합니다

삼성에버랜드(社長 : 김봉영)가 한국해비타트(이사장 정근모)와 손잡고 저소득 가정의 노후 주택을 리모델링해 주거환경을 개선해주는 '희망의 집 고치기' 사회공헌사업을 시작합니다.'에버하우스'로 이름 붙여진 이번 사업은 창립 50주년을 맞이한 삼성에버랜드가 업의 특성을 살린 사회공헌 활동을 강화하는 차원에서 실시하게 되었습니다.


본격적인 사업 착수에 앞서 19일 서울 중구 태평로 삼성본관에서는 삼성에버랜드 김봉영 사장을 비롯한 경영진과 한국해비타트운동 본부 정근모 이사장 및 관계자들이 참석한 가운데 「에버하우스 (Ever House)」업무 협약식이 열렸습니다. 이 자리에서 삼성에버랜드는 한국해비타트 측에 올 한해 '에버하우스'사업에 사용될 후원금 3억원을 전달했습니다.

삼성에버랜드는 '에버하우스' 사업에 E&A(Engineering&Asset) 사업부의 특성과 보유 역량을 활용해 '친환경·에너지 절감형' 개념을 적극 반영해 나갈 계획입니다. 이를 통해 단순한 노후주택 보수 차원을 넘어 가정용 태양광 발전이나 단열 강화 등 기존 주택을 에너지 절감형 주택으로 개선하고, 건축 디자인 전문가들의 재능나눔과 임직원들의 자원봉사로 독창성을 살린 집 고치기를 진행하기로 했습니다. 특히, 도움이 필요한 가구가 몰려 있는 밀집지구에 대해서는 마을 단위로 개선하는 작업도 실시해 나갈 계획입니다.

삼성에버랜드 김봉영 社長은 협약식 자리에서 "해비타트와 함께 저소득층 주거 환경 개선을 적극 실천해 나가겠다"면서 "친환경·에너지절감이란 에버랜드의 특성을 살리고, 임직원들이 자원봉사로 집 고치기 현장에 많이 참여할 수 있도록 하겠다"는 뜻을 밝혔습니다. 삼성에버랜드는 한국해비타트와 함께 '에버하우스' 대상 가구를  선별하는 작업을 거쳐 4월부터 본격적인 활동을 펼쳐 나갈 예정입니다.

- Donation of 300 million won for project to start in April

 

SEOUL, Korea – February 19, 2013 – Samsung Everland Inc. and Habitat for Humanity Korea today signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly help rehabilitate old houses of low-income families as part Samsung Everland’s corporate social responsibility efforts.

 

The ‘Ever House’ project will utilize Samsung Everland’s strengths in providing eco-friendly and energy-saving infrastructure in the areas of construction and landscape architecture.

 

A signing ceremony was held at Samsung Everland’s headquarters in Seoul, attended by Samsung Everland CEO Kim Bong Yung and Habitat for Humanity Korea Chairman Chung, Kun-Mo. Samsung Everland donated 300 million won to Habitat for Humanity Korea to be used for the project this year.

 

The ‘Ever House’ project will not only rebuild old homes but also incorporate eco-friendly and energy-saving features such as residential solar energy systems. The project will also utilize the expertise of building designers and volunteer work of Samsung Everland employees to provide a unique feel to the houses under renovation.

 

In areas where there is a concentration of homes that need to be repaired, the project will also aim to enhance the residential environment of the surrounding community at the same time.

 

Together with Habitat for Humanity, we will be active in making the residential environment better for low-income households, Samsung Everland CEO Kim Bong Yung said. The project will draw on Samsung Everland’s strengths in providing eco-friendly and energy-conserving solutions and employees will be encouraged to volunteer and participate in many of the renovation work.

 

After the selection process, Samsung Everland and Habitat for Humanity Korea will begin the rehabilitation project from April.
